Catholic adults (18+) from the U.S., Canada, and other countries, with enrollment limited, depending on the capacity of the venue.
(Additional Academy events are being added around the country. Please contact us if you would like to arrange one in your area.)
Specialized apologetics training on the biblical and historical foundations of the Catholic Church, as well as on modern ideological and cultural challenges (e.g., atheism, moral relativism), taught by Dr. Peter Kreeft, Patrick Madrid, and Kenneth Hensley. This intensive course in apologetics is ideally suited for working adults who want to immerse themselves in the faith-building and life-changing world of apologetics so that they can “always be ready to give a defense (apologion) to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you” (1 Peter 3:15).
The Envoy Institute’s Catholic Apologetics Academy enables Catholic adults to learn high-level apologetics. This unique experience will deepen their knowledge of and love for Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church in the company of other motivated, inquisitive Catholics who want to go deeper and learn how to explain their Catholic Faith more intelligently, defend it more charitably, and share it more effectively.
Several Catholic Apologetics Academy events have already been scheduled around the country and more are being added. Please check our EVENTS schedule for details and registration information. Note: The cost of lodging and dinners (i.e., evening meals) is not included in the Academy tuition. These costs, as well as making any necessary arrangements for lodging and meals is each participant’s responsibility. The Envoy Institute is securing specially discounted hotel rates for those who attend and will post that information on the event’s page when available.
What is the Catholic Apologetics Academy?
Catholic adults experience specialized, in-depth training in the art of Catholic apologetics, learning how to engage contemporary culture with truth, knowledge, and confidence. Our apologetics academies are taught by many of the country’s leading teachers, the Envoy Institute’s roster of veteran apologists include: Patrick Madrid, Edward Feser, Ph.D., Francis Beckwith, Ph.D., Kenneth Hensley, Peter Kreeft, Ph.D., Fr. Mitch Pacwa, S.J., Ph.D., Benjamin Wiker, Ph.D., Steve Wood, and Jim Burnham.
Our Apologetics Academy events bring together Catholic men and women who want to learn how to skillfully and confidently use Scripture, logic, and the facts of Christian history to explain and defend their Catholic beliefs in a world that is becoming increasingly hostile to those beliefs. Building upwards from a firm foundation for theism, the Envoy Institute Catholic Apologetics Academy teaches students how to articulately and persuasively present the Catholic world view, which encompasses compelling rational evidences for God’s existence, as well as biblical and historical evidences for His triune nature (One God in three Divine Persons),
the divinity of Jesus Christ, the authority and the mission of the Catholic Church which Christ established on the rock of Peter, Christ’s Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist, the sacraments, the role of the Blessed Virgin Mary in God’s plan of salvation, justification, sanctification, and salvation, purgatory, the papacy, and much more.
The Apologetics Academy experience strengthens the participants spiritually and intellectually as they prepare to engage with people whose worldviews, philosophies, and religious opinions are in conflict with the truth.
They’ll learn from some of the best Catholic apologists in the country and are able to informally mix with them during breaks, meals, and during social events. The combination of the expertise of the speakers, the bonding with other Catholic adults like themselves, and the Apologetics Academy’s rich and compelling course offerings, is conducive for developing new friendships that last well beyond their time together at the Academy.
